We take a holistic view on responsible transportation–from sourcing raw materials to low-resource production to efficient use by our customers. To achieve lasting change, the entire ecosystem must be sustainable, especially in cities where individual mobility is indispensable for millions.

Cities face challenges like congestion, pollution, and lack of public space. We firmly believe that climate protection and quality of life in cities can be achieved through innovations, not bans. Vehicles will remain an integral part of the urban landscape, but we must make them as low-emission as possible and find efficient, multimodal solutions to improve traffic flow and air quality.

For nearly 30 years, BMW Group has been working with cities and local stakeholders worldwide to implement pilot projects and test innovative transportation concepts. This allows us to measure, scale, and replicate successful solutions in other cities with similar conditions.

Beyond our partner city projects, we have a wealth of initiatives promoting electromobility, safer and more efficient traffic, and rethinking transportation, connectivity, and urban space utilization. These initiatives aim to improve quality of life and sustainability for everyone in cities.
